Sesqui and the Fam

Couple of weekends ago the boy and I decided to go for a ride at Sesqui. Somewhere along the way the girls decided they wanted to come. So a family adventure was born. We got to the trail head and evil kenevil was trying out his latest stunt. What you can not tell from this picture is that he is about to roll over a 4’ hill of pea gravel. Weeks back when he did it for the first time, the owner of the pile had not taken a scoop out of the back side. He missed that detail and almost went over the handlebars.

Shortly afterwards we took some before photos and hit the trail.

The boy and I rode up front, mainly to insure that I could rein him in during some challenging sections of the trail.
This ride would be his first one in clipless pedals on the trail. I was unsure how he would do, but he has it. I do not think there was one spill caused by the pedals.
As you can see from the pictures, most of them are of the girls. That is because the boy was up ahead of us most of the ride. About 3.5 miles in I think the wife was ready for it to end. Can you tell?

We made it out in about an hour. When we got back to the house the boy said, “Great ride Dad” and on Monday I had this letter which I will translate for the Kindergartner challenged.

“Logan Pelton I love my dad, he is the best biking dad you would ever have.” That is better than any trophy or title any day.

Your family is awesome and cracks my @$$ up Joe!!

There has been some talk around the HBW shop about a mountain ride soon.

YOu need to gather up those slackers and head up to the mountains for a big day!! Only two months of seasonal trails left!!

I can't believe Logan has gone to the dark side (clipless) already.

Peace

Loved reading about your family. I know the exact spot of the rock pile. Great note from your son. BTW, I met you at the Y Spin Class. I'm the beginner that rode RTR this year.
