The last couple of weeks around here have been CRAZY.
Saturday, 2/23/08, the kids had their 1st soccer game of the season. Logan played in his first game and scored 5 goals. Things were looking good... Hannah's team, The Honeybee's, which I have been coaching for 4 years now, had a last quarter come back scoring 5 goals to win 6-4. Those girls continue to impress me with the size of their hearts.
Shortly after we got back from the games Logan was horsing around, jumped off the back of our bed, tripped and broke his arm.
With all of the crazy things he does, I can not believe falling off he bed was how he broke his first two bones. Unfortunately I don't think this will be his last two. Heather caught him riding down the driveway one handed on the scooter 4 days after the cast was set.
The fracture is a compound, meaning it went through the skin. We spent Saturday and Sunday in the hospital because he had to have surgery. Today they had to reset the arm because the initial set did not hold. Doctor says that if he does not keep the his feet on the ground for 2 weeks, he will have to get screws to hold it in place. Good Luck!
Couple weeks back I started spin classes before going to work. Last Thursday we had a hard class and then I did some weight training before going into work. Jumped in the car and drove to Charleston, sat through about 4 hours in meetings, and then drove back to Columbia. About halfway through the meetings my back started locking up and my hamstring was cramping. I did not think anything of it until my ride back. Got to the house and I could barely walk. Turns out I have a herniated disc in my back that is pinching a nerve. I may have to take 2-3 weeks off from cycling. HOLLY $H!T!!! This is going to kill me.
Last of all the dog was taken to the groomer and got razor burn. $200 vet bill for a swollen sac and some scraps.
On a different note, the wife has been spending $ trying to get us "green". I have spent weeks replacing perfectly good light bulbs with these swirly ugly expensive bulbs. Then while I am in Charleston, suffering from a herniated disc, she goes and buys a SUV with a V8 in it. Not very "green", but the good new is that I will be able to claim Hugo Chavez as a dependent on my tax returns next year. I did not even get to look under the hood or kick the tires prior to her signing the papers and driving it off the lot.
Life is good...
