Not a Freeride type of Rider

Are you thinking what I am thinking?

I have turned Harbison into my little play ground. What I mean by that is that lately I have been riding out there enough to get bored by the normal trail riding. So to liven things up I have been looking for any trail feature to launch myself into the air. Perfectly spaced root clusters to clear at speed, log jumps, alternative lines... anything to change it up.
Well while out Saturday riding with my little buddy, we dropped in just to hit spiderwoman and bail, but I saw this log at the bottom of the switch backs. While my Dad Muscles were still pumped up I thought, "you know I think that line is ridable". So I scouted the approach, no problem. I scouted the line, no problem. Then got to the dismount and landing, that might be a problem. But surely not for someone with Dad Muscles as big as mine. And with little to no hesitation I rode the log, popped the front wheel up to make the 3' landing, and was quickly reminded that I am not a freerider. Logan laughed at me so hard that for a second there I thought I was riding with some of my asshole friends. Not that I can blame him. I am sure that if I saw some dummy try to ride that line on a rigid bike and bounce off the ground like he was on a giant pogo stick, I would have laughed my ass off too. Good times... No injuries, no broken bike parts, just a memory I am sure will bring a smile to my buddy's face for years to come.
I do want to make a transition at the bottom of that log, it is still a cool line. Just no more 3' drops.

Here is some Eli goodness. The most laid back person in the family.
What a blessing.
