I, like most people, would like to believe that the world revolves around me most of the time. Then there is this constant reminder (kids) that put things in perspective and require a lot of attention. Sometimes this attention is negative in the form of punishment, but hopefully most of the time it is positive in the form of character building activities.
This weekend we had two events that conflicted with each other. Logan had BMX at 11am on Saturday, while Hannah had soccer in Charlotte at 10. Obviously there was no way that we could accomplish this so Heather and I had divide and concur. I went to Charlotte while she went to BMX.
Hannah moved up to Academy soccer last year and the first season together was a learning experience. They lost far more games than they won, but this was expected. It was a growing season. This season they have had a number of games and the record is like 0-7 so far. The girls really need a win to lift the spirits. Well this Saturday they went up to Charlotte and played really well. They came away with a 3-3 tie in the first game and a 4-4 tie in the second game. The team acted like they won the national championship. It was good to watch and good for the girls. Hannah played extremely well and scored 5 of the 7 goals.
I heard that Logan had a good day at the track. He won both of his mottos and the final. That was the last race out at Columbia BMX on the old track. They have changed affiliations and a new track is being built by a Pro. We are looking forward to the new design even though Logan had a perfect record on the old one. Hopefully this new track will provide some additional challenges for him.
Also recently he has earned some money from report the card and birthday. He decided he wanted a gas powered pocket rocket. Luckily we talked him out of it because they are made in China and supposedly fall apart pretty quickly. He then turned his sights on this. $247 dollars later he was terrorizing cats, dogs, and kids on the street. This thing goes 35mph! So Sunday we took it out to the RC track which happens to be next to the BMX track. He had a great time jumping and crashing it all over the place. It does look like a lot of fun and I am sure I mentioned to him how cool it is.
Later that night while Heather was tucking him in, Logan asked her if there were any jobs he could get. When she inquired why, he said, “I want to buy a RC car for Dad. I think he really wants one”.
Thanks Bud! You’re a good kid!
Enjoy the Experience.
