Weekly Update:

Cycling - Riding lately has been reduced to 2 or 3X per week. If I am lucky, at least one of those days is a dirt day. Last Friday I made it out to Harbison to get in some good miles. I was on the fence about which bike to ride. I have not had the Cake on the dirt since 2008, and the 69SS is pretty rough on the bones. After much debate I settled on the 69SS. So we went out and hit Lost Creek as hard as I could, then straight to Spider Woman (w/ inner) and then out to the parking lot. The mileage was not big, but quality over quantity, I always say. I am running a 52” gear right now which is all I can handle in Spiderwoman. I actually cleared innerwoman, but lost it at the top of the rock garden. And I think that is why I keep riding the 69SS. The trail is alive, there is no time for day dreaming, and I still can not ride everything. It is almost like starting all over again.
So, another month passes and no dirt for the Cake. Maybe I will take her out in June, Maybe not.
BMX Boy- Logan had another race this weekend out at Columbia BMX. He won the race pretty easily. I was a little disappointed because he kept looking back in the turns to see where his competition was. It was a half hearted attempt. There is a Pro-Am this weekend at Lexington. I am sure the competition will be good there and he will get a chance to see some pros do it the right way.
Soccer Girl- Well the club decided not to have the end of the season tournament. So, no redemption for the Honeybees. Hannah tried out for Academy soccer last weekend and made the team. That means I will not be the coach any longer. After 5 years of coaching I am actually going to miss it. She rocked out the try-outs and now we are looking forward to increased competition. I can not believe how much this sport costs. It went from $150 per year to over $800. Oh well, there goes my bike budget.
Bouncing Boy- Eli is now 3 months old and I am not sure if he ever sleeps. He is going to be just like the other 2, bouncing off of the walls all the time. I know this because when I sit down with him he fusses. There is nothing wrong with him, he just wants me to walk him around. So I face him outwards and walk, outside, inside, wherever. He just wants to walk around and look at things. The other two were exactly the same. I am starting to believe that my wife and I are like Nitro and Glycerol. Harmless when separate, but when mixed, BOOOM!
War Department- She is starting a business in photograph. She is accumulating all the toys and has had a few shoots. I will post her pictures here next time. Right now she is doing free sittings for experience and charging for the digital photos.
Maybe this will actually pay for itself, or maybe even some of our other hobbies.
